I must have been living on the same planet as the people before me who sang the praises of The Lakes. The service at this place is garbage. I lived there for two years and complained about the door frame falling off and my sliding screen door not being fixed several times over the course of a year and a half. No one even bothered to come out to my apartment and fix it, nor did they call me. That's ridiculous. It only got fixed when finally, a maintenance guy drove by and saw the screen door. He thought it appropriate to tell us that it looked "trashy", so he wanted to fix it. I said, "It's nice that it only took a year and a half to get my request satisfied". He thought I was kidding. Plus, my carpet was covered in stains a day after we moved in. When I complained, the idiot manager who runs the property had it cleaned once, and then they tried to charge me for it when I moved out. DON'T MOVE TO THE LAKES! THE PLACE IS GARBAGE! Cheaply made crap that you pay way too much for.
