Consider This Before Moving In

When choosing an apartment, I looked not only at the ammenities and asthetics of the complex, but also the level of service I recieved from the leasing agents. I chose The Lakes based on all the above, because at the time I moved in, it met my criterias. Approximately 5 months after I moved into The Lakes they changed managment company's to NTS Developments. The state of the complex deteriorated from this point on. There became a very high turnover rate in the leasing and managment departments. By the end, after only 1 year, I knew no one in
the office. Communication between the office and the residents was, unfortunately, nearly non-existant. Not only were complaints and concerns not acted upon, there was never follow-up. Tracking down the manager became a daily event when I had questions. Even though it was explained to me that the criteria for potential residents hadn't changed since the managment takeover, there was certainly wiggle room and loop holes exposed and used. The demographics of this complex has quickly gone down hill and soon became a security issue. Before choosing this complex, be certain to look beyond the beautifully manicured lanscape. I would have loved to have remained at The Lakes, as it was close to work and my family, but the lack of comfort and security assured me moving was the right decision.
