TIME TO MOVE ON

I'm writing this in regards to the remarks/statements invoked by the previous author inciting RACE AND/OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION as a basis for a particular issue which occured over the weekend.I was presentI totally disagree that this was a matter of race or sexual orientation...it was pure VINDICTIVENESS. However, I do agree that the leasing agent is quite rude and inept at holding a civil, intelligent conversation without ranting, raving, obliterating and distorting the truth.A leasing agent is the first indicator that a potential resident comes into contact with when searching for an apartment. Her professional attitude and profound knowledge of the apartment community is a must have. Her passion for displaying a positive atmosphere in the leasing office is mandatory. Other than the interaction with the leasing agent, it is the apartment community itselfit's upkeep, the landscaping, the grounds..the total aesthetics that determines if a resident will 'choose' this place to make it a home.Over the weekend, while trying to hold some simblance of an intelligent conversation with the Marina leasing agent regarding actions she took while dealing with a particular situation (it was quite difficult with her children at her side and her big burly boyfriend prancing back and forth at the front desk), I found it impossible and was forced to call the Property Manager(whom I found out was out of town on business) on my cellphone to try and obtain some resolve to the issues at hand. And as ALWAYS, he was there, eager and ready to listen to me. Even with him on the phone. the leasing agent was persistent in slamming office doors and screaming at such a level that he and I were forced to repeat ourselves over many times while talking. Professional' I think not. Providence needs to deal with her attitude and lack of professionalism pronto. The agent should make the residents feel that their happiness/contentment in the apartment community is none other than TOP PRIORITY to the Corporation. We should also be made to feel that our presence in the community is an ASSETnot a RIGHT!
I have lived here many many years and have been treated kindly by the Property Mgr, Ass't Manager and the maintenance staff. In return I have brought lunch and cards to them thanking them for a job well done. They were like an 'extended family.'
In recent years, the quality of care of the complex has deterioated and the lack of compassion for many residents has become evident.A dear friend of mine once told me that sometimes you 'outgrow' your home. I didn't understand what she meant at the time. But now I think I do. Basically, you experience growth and subtle CHANGES in your life.YOUR HOME MET YOUR NEEDS FOR THE TIME BEING. The home you once looked forward to coming to at the end of a day's workthe one place that provided you with complete solace, comfort and a haven away from it allHAS NOT CHANGED. IT HAS NOT ADAPTED to meet your needs and you must move on.
I've had such an experience here. After many many years of being totally happy with my surroundsingsI must move on.
