The Marina

Proud to call it home! From: cduffy10 Date posted: 10/21/2004 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004   As a single mom I searched for an apartment that had a nice family community where I would feel comfortable allowing my child to go out and play. I love my lake view and especially the school system. The previous management staff was very discriminatory and not very professional, some of you writing your comments share those same qualities which is probably why you who liked her so much and have such harsh words about our current staff . Not only am I a single mom I am also a college student and I work full time. If you think the Marina is bad, you obviously have not visited the apartments on either side of us nor have you been north of 38th street. I personally see maintenance out every morning before I go to work cleaning the grounds. The only time I saw the old management out "walking the grounds" is when she was passing out eviction notices. As for the blue tarps, am I the only one to remember that we had a tornado hit our apartments HELLO it takes time to rebuild. At least our current management is willing to work with you as long as you tell them what is going on with your situation. And in closing, kids are going to play and congregate that's why they call it a community, as a concerned parent I know many of the kid's parents and if I ever see any of them get out of line I will not hesitate to tell their parents and I expect the same from them regarding my kid. I also recall that not so long ago the apartments attempted to get a community watch program going, but when you have 10 tenants out of 300 show up then you really do not have the right to cry bad neighborhood when you are doing nothing to make it better. Instead of putting your fingers to work complaining, get off your butt and your computer and make not only your home but your community a place to be proud of. With all of the statements of what they do not have, have you requested any of these improvements' I have and I'm happy because my issues are resolved.
