I have lived here over a year, the place in that time has gone down hill rapidly. Between the family of 20 people living next door and the drug dealers on the corner this place is a pit. The office and maintinence staff are very friendly but the place is still a pit. In addition they are raising my rent by over $100.00 a month because my lease is up great way to keep good tenants.

it is illegal for them to raise your rent more than 5% every year. You are either lying or they are breaking the law. Which one is it?

It's possible the person had a special rate with a lease, but then did not renew and is now paying a month-to-month charge. That could account for a $100 difference.
