I've lived here for a little over a year, and while it's not the worst place I've ever lived, it's definitely not the best either. If you live on a main street you park right off the street, there is not lot or turn in or anything. And cars come through pretty fast. It's pretty noisy. You can often hear car radios and people will drive by or park with the bass up high. One of my neighbors is a family with a couple of kids. The kids are loud and obnoxious they hang out in the stairwell and leave trash all over the place. They throw stuff too. Rocks' and those little 4th of July poppers. There is a lot of trash, but I do see the maintenance people out picking it up. There just must be a bunch of litterbugs living here. As for safety, I don't feel safe here. I don't really want to publicize specific safety issues, but there are some. Some people have mentioned a poor response to a neighborhood watch meeting, but I've never heard anything about that. I definitely would go to something like that. As for the apartment itself, the layout is pretty nice. However, materials (doors, carpet, cabinets, fixtures) are cheap. It would be nice to have an enclosed porch too. If you live on the first floor anybody walking by can walk up on your porch and see in your apartment. The maintenance staff seems adequate, although they did leave my door unlocked after coming around for a routine check of something or other. The only contact I've had with the leasing staff was when we first rented the apartment, so I can't really comment on them. They seemed fine. As for the comments on prejudice that some people have made, on an average day I see more black and Hispanic people than white people. Of the four units in my building, we are the only ones that are white.
