I just moved here in March from a brand new apartment on the southside that I lived in for 2 years. I love my apartment and have met most of the neighbors in my building.... Havent heard anything bad. I had a few minor issues that needed to be attended to when I moved in (I thought I had a ghost because my ceiling fan would come on in the middle of the night but when I called but found out it was just the frequency in the remote, needed a dryer hose, and some touch up paint). These are things that are to be expected as I dealt with those types of things when I moved into a brand new place. Anyway, maintenance was over within a day or 2.
When I called about the gate they told me that there was an issue with the call box but gave me a code I could use until the problem is taken care of. I dont know if it is fixed yet. It is an mechanical device with a motor just like a car so I am sure that it does have issues at times as many times as it opens and closes each day.
I do not know about the pool but I think a lot of pools are filled with hoses and I think they are always cold for the first month. If I remember correctly the pool at my last place was pretty cold through June but started to warm up in July. I havent used the weight room because I am using my the free membership at Golds right around the corner.
Anyway, I was suprised to see this "AM I Alone" review..... Sounds like a bitter person in general. It is a matter of opinion though I guess, my last apartment was also very nice and there were bad reviews posted there too. People with nothing better to do but to express negative.... Go talk to someone, maybe they can help. Ultimately, I just wanted to express my satisfaction and I would recommend that you come take a look for yourself.
