Valley Forge is a privately owned apartment complex. That should have been my first clue not to live there. It's been my experience and that of many friends living there that the owners do not care about their tenants. They only seem to care about making more money off of them.
VF is a very old building. Outwardly it looks "acceptable" but keep in mind the buildings are old and falling apart. Everything about them is in need of updating.
I could go on and on about how terrible a place VF is to live but instead I'll focus on the main bad points.
First, they use an antiquated a/c system in the summer. They have ONE a/c unit that accomodates the entire complex. During the summer they raise your rent anywhere from $35 to $65 for using the a/c. The a/c breaks down on a regular basis. I came home MANY times to a 90degree apartment and the maintenance would do nothing to fix it till the next day.
Second, the staff is "constantly" leaving threatening letters on your doors. They have nothing better to do then think of new rules to force on their tenants.
Third, they run a dog rescue out of the main office and constantly have overbearing or even mean dogs in the office while you're trying to conduct business. Furthurmore they allow the dogs to LIVE in the vacant apartments, literally. My downstairs neighbor was a vicious dog for several months!!! The dogs tear up the apts and make the place stink.
Forth, the maintenance is non-existent and the maint men are rude!!!
Fifth, managment is constantly accusing tenants of being to loud, etc. simply on hearsay. I was accused on multiple occasions of having loud partys when I was sitting home alone.
Sixth, when I finally moved out (3 months early) the management was mad at me and tried to get revenge by sending me a "handwritten" bill that looked like a kindergartener had written it charging me for all kinds of non-existent damage that totaled $2047!!! They will never see a dime!

I could go on and on.
Bottomline, avoid VF!!!!
