Don't believe the manager. Security was a HUGE problem and they were not helpful. The security guard, whom they said did rounds in street clothes to keep from drawing attention, never existed. I personally want criminals to know a security guard is there. My girlfriends car was broken into twice, my roommates car once, and our apartment was broken into as well. I still believe it was one of the grounds employees but didn't pursue it. In the same day my apartment and three others in my building were broken in to. Coincidence' Do not live in that area if you are concerned with safety. That shopping center attracts crime.

I just want to clear a few things up. I noticed you lived there in 2003. I'm happy to say things have improved greatly and I'm sorry for your unhappy experience at Bent Tree. We no longer have a "plain clothes" courtesy attendant. Since I took over in October of 2004, I hired uniformed Marion County deputies to patrol the community in squad cars, and we have improved the lighting as well. Again, I'm sorry for your unfortunate experiences, and you are welcome to stop by at any time to see what exciting changes are happening at Bent Tree.
