I have been living at Villages of Bent Tree for a couple of years now, and have to say that while the rent is fairly reasonable, they more than make up for it with a totally inept management and maintenance staff. Ever since I moved in, I have had several repair requests that were completely ignored by the staff (including water leaking and mold damage that existed when I moved into the apartment). I finally started submitting all requests in writing because calling the office is no guarantee they submit a work order. I have repeatedly asked that the leasing office notify me when any maintenance staff will be in my apartment(because the maintenance staff has been known to help themselves to tenant's food and drinks when on repair calls), but I was given the excuse that they (the leasing office) had no way of knowing when maintenance would be completing repairs. Unfortunately, the maintenance staff will come over, leave a note, and not make the repairs. So that means I have to resubmit requests and follow up several times before anything is done. You would think if they took the time to come over, leave a work repair notice, that they could actually make the repair.
They also don't clear ice and snow, cars get broken into all the time, and there is litter, dog poop, and garbage all over the grass and sidewalks. Parking can be a hassle too because no one wants to pay the insane rental prices for a garage or carport.
When I first moved here, the neighbors seemed nice (families, people with jobs), but ever since the latest management company has taken over, that has completely changed.
Overall, when I moved to the Indy area, I looked at other apartment complexes that were far more expensive, in bad locations (not near highway, shopping etc), or horrible neighborhoods. I thought that I had found a decent place to live, but have been really unhappy with the low level of service I have received here. I'll be moving out this summer.
