live here at your own risk-mentally and physically

While living at Waterside I had the pleasure of having my car broken into not once, not twice, not even three times but four times. I know of at least these 4 times because the person or people who did this were kind enough to shatter in my driver's side window. This does not include the time that my back window was shot out with a bb gun. Although it is not the management that is responsible for the break ins, the fact that they happened to numerous people on a number of occations seems to sound alot like negligence. These things happened even though when I moved in I was told that the security that was provided was the best that could be found in the Castleton area. I guess that is what they tell 18 and 19 year old girls so that they can trick them into believing that they are safe. That was problem number one.
Problem number 2 was that the maitenance men clearly ignored any note that were left on the door regarding their entering the apartment. A great example of this is when someone leaves a note clearly stating, "Although I called to have my dead bolt repaired, I am currently unavailable. I will call to reschedual." I thought that that was clear. Obviously they did not, and proceeded to enter my apartment while I was in the shower. Management did nothing.
Maitenance also never returned for the repairs. Nor did they fix my garbage disposal, the waterheater, or the hole in the bedroom that caused it to rain on my new furnature.
The best part of the place was the mishandling of the rent. If a resident must constantly bring in the copies of the cashed rent check, one would assume that eventually the office would learn to not credit the wrong account. Oh, I almost forgot the late fees that I was charged. I know now that many of the things that they(the management and the maitanence) did violeted my rights both legally and ethically, but I was young and they took advantage of me.
Please take this as a warning to any person that is looking into moving here, or is looking for an apartment for their child. If you don't believe what you read, the break ins and the windows being shot out are a matter of public record, just check the newspaper archives. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
