Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I made a mistake and signed a 1yr lease. I was under the impression that I would recieve a vaulted ceiling apt. being on the 3rd floor. I was not allowed to see a 3rd floor apartment until I moved in. Let's just say it was not a VAULTED CEILING, it is a RAISED CEILING. The bug infestation is an issue. The gates never work and when they do, they're annoyingly slow. Maintenance has only been late once. Rent is outragously expensive for the area. Reality check - your gates don't work - who are we trying to keep out' When I'm trying to leave, a car almost hit me head on because they did not want to use the entrance gate. Then I was told security only comes around on occasion. The office/Management cannot tell time - we are on daylight savings now - it gets darker earlier. Living on the 3rd floor or 2nd, you cannot see because the lights come on with a timer at around 7pm. It would be ok but it starts to get dark at 5:30. Only the first floor lights come on by sensor - that helps us who have to go up 2 more flights of steps. I can't even see to put my key in the lock. Office hours are a joke. Winter hours start at 10' And what happened to a drop box' For those who have to pay rent and cannot make it across town because of rediculous office hours never make it in time for the office to be open.
My recommendation is that there are far better apartments for cheaper and that are in a better area. I wanted to get out of my lease after 2months of living there. The crime in the 38th street area is slowly creeping up towards eagle creek. I think we're just paying for the gates that by the way DONT WORK and when they do THEY'RE EXTREMELY SLOW. The only reason I moved in the apartments is because I just moved from out of town and a friend lived in the community - i signed the lease on a first glance which is ignorance on my behalf.
There are better communities up north for far less. This isn't the best side of town either. Save the rent money and pay for gas. These apartments are not worth it.
And if you like freeway noise that they told me wasn't an issue during the night - which was a lie - be my guest. There's new black top but there are still pot holes that were poorly filled.
