You'd better believe all of the negative things that have been written about this place. If you are searching for a place to live, this should be the last place on your list...better yet, it shouldn't be there at all! It is dangerous, neighbors are rude, noisy, can't speak english, etc...There is drug dealing like everyday...in broad daylight! Security is definitely a joke. They'd say anything to appease you just to get you off of the line. Maintenance is...ok. We've had several issues that have had numerous attempts at being fixed and still haven't had the issues solved. Parking is definitely a nightmare! Don't even get me started on the office staff! They are all an absolute joke. They're rude, they don't care what you have to say. They basically con you into moving in here with their offers of low rates, then turns out..."oh, sorry, that floorplan is no longer available, but we have this one for this much more." There is a sign when you drive into West Lake that says "Neighborhood Crime Watch Area", that is a bunch of crap. My neighbors car just got broken into and a bunch of stuff was stolen. Then someone tried to break into their apartment. I am definitely afraid to leave the apartment alone. I don't feel safe with my 2 year old son living here either. Please, please run far away from this place!!

My husband and I were planning on moving here but we wanted to see the apartment they'd be giving us BEFORE actually moving our stuff in. We were SO excited about the place they showed us but HORRIFIED when we went exploring around the complex by ourselves. There were men dressed like vatos standing around watching our every move and even whistled at me even though I was holding my husband's hand while his parents pushed our baby in the stroller. The apartment itself had weeds growing over our heads and the fence was fallen over. It looked very ghetto in the back (the part they don't show you on the tour) and I now feel very let-down and uncomfortable about moving there. Not to mention, the lease they wrote has the wrong move-in date than the one we told them. Hopefully we can get out of it. (Especially since we haven't even moved there yet!)

I sincerely hope for your sake that you can get out of it! The men that you saw are pretty much standard around here. Yesterday I saw a man carrying 2 live roosters by their feet into his apartment. I can only imagine what he did with them. I was shocked! I have no idea who to call about this, I was told that it is illegal if not on a farm or something. Every weekend is a fiesta, so if you love tejano music until 2 in the morning, you'll be right at home. I have a 3 year old and feel guilty because I am afraid to take him outside to play by ourselves. I cannot wait to get out of here, unfortunately I am stuck for another whole year.
