This place was my very first apartment. When I was applying here they said that paying a whole months rent for a deposit was not an option that I needed a cosigner and that after a year I could be on the lease by myself if I chose to live here another year. Well when I went to sign a new lease they told me that I still needed a cosigner or I could pay a whole months rent as a deposit even though I already gave them a security deposit the first time around (which means I would have had to give them that months rent for the following month plus another months rent for a deposit it adds up to $944.00)I reminded them what they had told me before I moved in but they didn't care all they wanted was the $944.00 that they thought I was going to fork out. So I had my uncle cosign for me again for another year because at the time that I found out all that stuff Westbury would have fined me for not giving them a thirty days notice before moving out. It is all BS. And then a couple months later after I sign the new lease my car gets broken into (and to top it off I live right next to the office and that is where the security officer sits all the time). And I went up to the office to report it and they said that the security officer will get a report and they will put it in my file then. I told them no I am up here now you can put it in there now. And I asked them how long this stuff has been going on and there response was It happens in every apartment complex. I told her I didn't ask you that and she said for like 3 months. And I asked her why they never sent out notices and she said no apartment complex does that. Oh but they can over here spend our money to send out flyers every month talking about nothing important. But a few days later my boyfriend at his apartment complex received a notice that there were a few car break ends and to be carefull. And when I moved out they charged me for everything. They took my $100 security deposit and had the nerve to send me a bill for $20. I was charged for carpet cleaning $85 (I never got new carpet to begin with like I was told I was going to get but they didn't have enough time to replace it. So I was charged for normal wear and tear from people walking from the front door to the couch and to the bathroom and it doesn't cost $85 dollars to clean a carpet especially for what they were charging me for I called around and I could have had my whole one bedroom apartment done for as cheap as $30 and the highest was $60), I was charged for boiler pan missing $10 (never had one when I moved in got one after I reguested one. They gave me one still in the plastic and I left it where they put it in the cubboard by the stove), charged for an oven cleaning $15 (after I cleaned it inside and out and I even pulled it out and I found stuff behind there that I don't even eat so it was obvious that was never done before)and last but not least they charged me for drywall repair $10 (they make it sound like there were holes in the walls but that wasn't the case. They told me that I could hang up a curtain and when I nailed the nail into the wall the drywall chipped off like a crushed cracker and they didn't have to repair a hugh spot it was no bigger than a 1/4 of a saltine cracker it was a perfect sguare because they had to repair it before). In these apartments you can here you neighbors beside you and up stairs walking, peeing, flushing the toilet, taking a shower, and having sex. I would never recommend anybody to live here and for those of you that do make sure you do the walk through with the office manager or take your own pictures because they will try to get you for all you got and if they tell you one thing when you move in make sure you get it in writing that way you don't get screwed like I did three times.
