My husband and I had our aparment broken into in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. I was on my way home from being out of town and my husband had just left for a football game. The theives threw a brick through the back patio door and welcomed themselves into our home and to most of our things. Mysteriously nobody in the building, or the surrounding units heard a brick smashing through the patio window. Nobody from the management nor maintenance showed up to fix the broken door until well into the evening, around 10:00 or 11:00 that night. By that time by husband and I and our friends that help clean up the mess had the rest of our stuff packed up in boxes ready to move out, who in their right mind would stay in that unit. I should mention that we were newly weds only 3 months married (a prime target for theives), obviously we had been singled out.
We explaind the situation to the management and asked them to terminate the lease so that we could move someplace else for our own sake of feeling secure and for our saftely as we felt, as everyone but the williamsburg management agreed, was jeopordized. The management would not allow anything to be done and expeted us to stay in the same unit we had just been broken into. My husband and I found that unacceptable and clearly told them that to which their response was to move us to a different unit. Again we were not satisfied as there is assigned parking spots to every unit which gives potential robbers a good ideas as to when you are home. And having been singled out moving our cars to a different unit doesn't fix the problem. Still they offered no solutions are any compassion at all. After asking for and theatning to call the owners, they did offer to transfer us to a different aprtment complex farthur norht but they charge us an outrageous fee to transfer us. Which seems a little ridiculous, we were being ripped off even more after already having over $20,000 worth of stuff stolen.
Williamsburg North transferred us to the Woods of Castleton. When we explained our situation to Bill at the Woods he outright said "stuff like that [referring to the crime] happens all the time over there, they [management] are very leanient on who they take in as tennant, and are accepting of tennant with misdemeanors and domestic violence."
Please consider moving somewhere else completely, my suggestion as all of their responses were "this is our policy" is to stay away from all Gene B. Glick apartments. Becuase if their policy at Williamsburg is be uncaring and inconsiderate of their clients needs then I image all of their properties would act the same way.

As the manager of this community, I am just as concerned and disappointed by the unfortunate experience that unfolded by this crime. It is our goal and number one priority to provide our residents with a comfortable place to call home. When we are inhibited from meeting this goal because of the actions of others, it not only hurts our business, but also causes frustration. We work very hard to prevent crime in our communities, including a strict criminal background screening for all applicants over the age of 18. We also employ a community courtesy officer and regularly engage with local law enforcement and nearby apartment community managers to discuss and implement crime prevention efforts. I am most concerned by your review to hear that you were dis-pleased by the response that you received from our management team. If you had owned a home and this crime had occurred, your mortgage company would not have relieved you of the obligations of your mortgage. In this case, we attempted to be compassionate to your needs by offering to transfer your household to another apartment home or a sister community so that you would not have to consider bearing the extraordinary expense of buying out your lease agreement. Once again, I am deeply disappointed by the experience you had at our community, and I hope this review does not create a negative impression of our community or the Gene B. Glick properties. I believe in our practices and our mission to serve our residents as our highest priority, and I am confident that we are an excellent choice for renters in Indianapolis. Living in an apartment complex is not the same as having a mortgage. The property manager is responsible for the property of an apartment whereas the person holding the mortgage is responsible for the home.

I also find it very funny that the management has to get on here and pretty much comment on every single bad comment made about this property. If you also look at other Gene B. Glick properties on here, they all do that same. It seems like they are "apologizing" for alot of issues. Seems kinda funny they would take the time to do that. Sounds like they know they have a lot of horrible issues and are just trying to make it "sound better" ha.
