Apartment is fine, staff is terrible

I have been living at Willow Lake for a while now, and I find that the apartments are mostly fine, a little dated for a "luxury apartment" but fine overall. The staff, both on-site and at the NTS corporate office are extremely poor however.
The Good: The apartment is fine, has some nice features like a patio, over sized tub, and decently spacious layout. I've had very few issues with the apartment aside from old windows that leak, and the maintenance staff has been helpful within the apartment.
The Bad: The grounds are not well kept. There are numerous places around the complex where they've removed shrubs and bushes and just left muddy pits that are very unattractive. The trash compactor has been broken for almost six months, and despite letters from the management staff indicating that it'll be fixed next week, nothing gets done. Trash piles up, smells terrible, and is a VERY unattractive part of the property. It's not much of an issue now, but snow removal was also quite poor all winter, with driveways and sidewalks staying covered until late afternoon or evening.
The Ugly: The NTS staff. Some of the front desk staff are fine, but all apartment managers, assistant managers, and corporate staff are unhelpful, unresponsive, and downright rude. The only time they are helpful is when you are considering living in the apartments or when it comes time to renew a lease. I've had to resort to keeping a long list of all issues outstanding and present it when the lease renewal process begins to get things taken care of. They generally act as if you are inconveniencing them when you call with a question or request. The history of three such managers and discussions with the regional manager at NTS has left me with the impression that the corporate policy is to make as much money as possible with little to no regard for the residents. They even have refused to honor items in a signed lease, citing "I didn't sign it, so it's not my problem." Additionally, Better Business Bureau complaints against them are not replied to or dealt with thus far.
Conclusion: Even with the promise of a $200 referral bonus, I would not recommend that anyone live here. It's just not worth the hassle of dealing with the management company.
