I have to disagree

I have lived in Willow Lake for a year and a half. We chose Willow Lake because they have beautiful, spacious apartments. We were even willing to pay a little over budget for the nice layout and the space. What a mistake! We have had to call at least twice for 90% of maintenance requests we've made. We have a recurring problem with ants in our kitchen, our windows and doors are extremely drafty and make it impossible to keep the apartment warm without paying extravagant gas bills, & the office staff only follows through with their promises about half of the time. We incurred fire damages in early December. Just now, at the end of February, are they finally making the necessary repairs. In addition to the long wait, we were given incorrect information by the office staff in reference to what day contractors would be making the repairs, causing us to miss work in order to get things ready for them.

So, "stop complaining", I'm glad that you have had a pleasant experience with Willow Lake, however there are many of us who have not. Please don't trivialize our frustrations. We live in an apartment complex that prides itself on it's "22 years of legendary excellence"; don't blame us for expecting the excellence they promise and for being disappointed when time and time again they don't deliver.

ants are an issue everywhere you can't blame nature for issues not in our control

Yes. But they are paying money to live there, not with ants. It is the apartment's job to get rid of them.

Caution: This is the same person who wrote "Want ants for roomates?" awhile back. They took their old review off and placed a new one on top. You can tell because the comments followed the username (made on 11/2007 and 12/2007, but new review posted in 2008). Don't let one person's agenda ruin your thinking. Also, did you cause the fire from carelessness? Some places will evict you for damaging their property to that extent while living on it. I strictly check all my appliances before leaving and watch food closely while cooking because I not only not want to cause damage to my unit, but I don't want to endanger my neighbors as well.
