I've lived at Willow Lake for eleven months now and plan on staying here for many years. I like it here and have no axe to grind. I do actually love so many things about this place...particularly, my apartment. I have a 2nd floor apartment with loft and the space is awesome, as are the amenities. The quality of the construction in the lofts is superb. Great sound proofing between the apartments - I never hear my neighbors when I'm in the apartment.
I've always found the staff (office, concierge, and maintenance) to be very friendly and helpful. Most maintenances issues I've had have been dealt with swiftly, courteously, and, if I was away, a report left for me upon my return. I have had a few maintenance issues (mainly washer & dryer on occasion) that have never been fully rectified, and I fear it could be the "settling" of the building. I can't say anything bad about the complex's personnel.
The quality of the apartment itself is quite good, open and airy. Kitchen cabinet space is limited and very nice looking, black appliances are cool, as is storage space. One thing to beware of if you choose one of the second floor apts with a loft is the cathedral ceilings. I love them; they are great and make your apartment seem twice as large as it really is. But come winter that is a large volume of space to heat and your electric bill can go through the roof.
The grounds are well-kept, snow removal is above-average-to-good, and neighbors are generally quiet (but I am on a top floor, so I don't have anyone above me...but I never hear the apartments next door). Parking is plentiful.
There are a lot of activities and amenities in the clubhouse if you care to take advantage of them. The location is great, so no complaints there (except if you work downtown). You are close to so many conveniences. Security has also never been a concern.
The place is overall nice. Maintenance staff was great. The office people seemed to always be busy but took time out to talk to me, especially the office staff. They seemed to really care about people there.
I love my apartment and plan to stay here quite awhile. I would recommend this complex to anyone!!

Wow. I can't believe some of the things you've said about Willow Lakes because I have found my experiences to be complete opposite. I too have lived at Willow Lakes for almost 11 months now and I too live in a 2nd floor loft apartment. My kitchen appliances are completely out of date (Did you pay the extra $50/month to get yours upgraded?? Because that's what they told me we had to do to get better ones.) They considerably raise your rent if you decide to sign a new lease, when you're already paying WAY too much. I can NEVER find a parking spot near my complex, especially in the evenings. Some of the office is nice but there is one person in particular I feel doesn't do a good job. She is usually really quick to get off the phone and seems to not care about the residents at all. I am moving out the second my lease is up, even though I'm staying in the area. It is definitely an inconvenience to move again but it will be worth it because I am not dealing with all the problems I've put up with here. I would not recommend anyone to move here. I've lived in several apartments and have liked every other place I've lived, besides here. I really don't know how you rated a 5 for Willow lakes on everything because my ratings would be a 2-3. I hope it continues to work out for you and hope you don't have to experience what I have. Good luck!

Run your ceiling fans, dumbass. That lets the air circulate and your bedroom won't be 82 degrees then. I had the same problem until I turned on the fans. It also saves money to run them, vs. the central air.

Well dumbass since my fans are never turned off I find it hard to believe that will correct the issue. So next time you make a stupid comment you should know at the facts first.
