try getting your security deposit back

The apartments weren't too bad. They had central air, new appliances, & were cheap - all things to get you in the door.
Once you're in - the plumbing is horrible!! I think they use all old plastic pipes or something. Everything breaks constantly - bathroom & kitchen. A lot of your neighbors are kind of creepy. And the second the maintenance staff arrives - you want them to leave! They made problems worse.
But the worst thing is the security deposits!!. I know most apartment complexes try to get you for exactly what the security deposit is so you don't get anything back, but their security deposit was expensive & they demanded another 100 from me. I had been told the carpets would be replaced before I moved in when they were trying to convince me to sign that lease, but they never did. I didn't make a huge deal over it because other than that I was happy with the apartment. When I went to move out, they charged me my deposit & then some to replace the carpets. I asked if they bothered to try cleaning them first & they said that the carpets were so old they needed replacing. So I asked why I had to pay for that & they said that they always need to steam or replace carpets when people have pets & since mine was old, they would replace it. But they never answered why I had to pay for that!
I tried the best I could to get someone of authority on the phone & kept meeting dead ends & frankly the lady at the leasing office scared me. They scared me into paying above & beyond the security deposit with papers that threatened to sue me. And I paid rent, every month, for my pet!!! They wound up taking $1000 from me in the end to replace rugs in a tiny apartment.
I definately got ripped off & sadly, writing this little review is the only thing I can do about it :(

I am sorry to hear that you didn't throughly enjoy your stay with
Woodbridge. As you have stated, we have recently gone through a renovation which included updating all appliances that are of a high quality. In any housing dwelling, there will occasionally be things that break or leak, these things are to be expected, however, our maintenance is great and always quickly resolves any problems. Our community does charge a security deposit as most apartment communities do, and on occasion as deemed by our credit criteria, may charge up to one months rent. When there are damages in an apartment, we must charge the tenant responsible for them. Please feel free to contact the Rental Office if we can better explain any moveout charges. Sincerely, Drenda Martin, Property Manager
