THEY FINALY CAME TO FILL IN THE POT HOLES. THAT WAS A HUGE PROBLEM. I HAVE HEARD ALOT ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY AND IT WASN'T POSITIVE: THE CRIME AND THE ROBBERS. SOME RATE THIS APARTMMENT AS 10%. I HEARD PIZZA'S PLACES WONT EVEN DELEIVER!!!

BUT I DO STAY HERE NOW. THEY WOULD WAIT TO TELL ME BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS APARTMENT WHEN I ALREADY SIGN MY LEASE HERE!!!

WELL FOR THE MOST PART: MY APARTMENT: I LIKE THE WAY ITS MADE AND ESPECIALLY THE STOVE. THAT BATHROOM YELLOW TUB CAN GO, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE APARTMENT IS OKAY.

THE OUTSIDE NEEDS TO BE REMODELED!!!!

IF ANY ONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LEASE TERMINATION PLEASE WRITE SOMETHING, BECAUSE I TRIED TO ASK THE LEASING STAFF AND THEY ACT LIKE THEY NEVER HEARD OF IT. I NEED IT JUST IN CASE I HAVE TO MOVE!!!!

Normal terms at most complexes are a 2-month "buyout" (give 60 days notice, pay two extra month's rent, you can go).
However, the lease here, the last I looked, was much stricter. Management DOES, TOO have an "out" clause, I've seen it, and they should know what it is, but since the complex just got bought by a new company, I don't know if the old clause applies or not.
It's extremely difficult to legally terminate a lease without the landlord agreeing. Unless the building basically becomes uninhabitable, you still owe them the whole years' money. I learned this from the tenant's union in another state, because IN is so backwards they don't have a tenants union. Anyway, if you skip out, they normally get a judgment against you in court (meaning the court says yes you owe them the money), and sooner or later you end up having to pay this, in order to not **** up your credit rating.
Hope this helps. I recommend starting to look for new housing now and bailing when your lease is up.

I moved to Woods at Oak in the middle of August, and since then I've discovered roaches in my apartment, even after the landlord sent someone here to spray twice in a one month period of time. The lock on my door was picked and was not accessible until I called emergency maintenance to fix it. My mailbox was broken into and the landlord would not respond to my calls to fix it until I informed the landlord by voicemail that I would not be able to pay my rent if I couldn't get my check in the mail. I have heard gunshots while here, 18 gunshots one morning in a ten minute period of time, and maintenance will not fix the things I've asked them to fix inside my apartment. Even the supervisor at the nearby post office said that mail boxes getting broken into here have become a problem, not to mention that the landlord has continuously not responded to the problem by fixing the mailboxes, according to the post office supervisor, which is required of any apartment, by federal law. This place is a nightmare. The stairs leading up to my apartment are falling apart, and the lighting just inside the entrance is lacking. I shouldn't leave out that tenants play loud rap music during the day and congregate outside most evenings and nights, and most of them are young, really street tough, and not very friendly. Often, at night, a baby in the upstairs apartment screams bloody murder for the longest time, and I can hear the kids in that apartment stomping around from room to room. There are speed bumps at every turn here, and I feel that I'm tearing up my car trying to speed up just to get out of this hellhole. Not an ideal place to live, for sure.
