I moved into the Woods at Oak Crossing last month, at the begining of this month I went in and paid rent. I handed one of the office staff my 2 money orders for rent made some small talk with the girl and left. Then on the 8th I recieved a notice saying that my rent was late and I needed to pay 800 something odd dollars.
I went up to the office and spoke directly to the girl that I handed my money orders to, she said she remembered me coming in, but tried to play coy with me saying she wasnt too sure if she remembered me giving her the rent. She then checked the records and said she couldnt see the payment in there. She told me she would speak to management and to call up there later. I called back the next day and she said she would take care of it. Some days later I recieved the "filing for eviction" letter on my door. I called back up there and the very lady I had given my money orders to told me that everything had been taken care of and they found the money orders.
Now today I checked my mail and see that they actually filed for eviction and went to court on the 26th. Well today is the 30th. So not only did the girl lie to me, they took the matter to court and the letter says they can come take my apartment back TODAY. I have spent the past hour trying to get in contact with them but they are not answering, and im at work so I wont be able to make it up there.
I do have the 2 reciepts from the money order but the principle of the matter is that I shouldnt even have to show them. Obviously Im going to, but seriously the girl KNOWS i gave her the money and she obviously lied to her boss about losing the money order. Its really very sad. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
