Don't expect to get what you pay for.

I have lived in Ashley Oaks Apts. for a year now and have had a terrible time with the management. Don't expect to have anything completed by management because they use nothing but sticky notes and seem to lose them at their convenience. I have 2 cats and couldn't open my windows for about 6 months because they were unable to handle the task of repairing a screen, finally they are slightly fixed (at least the screen doesn't fall out of its frame). They have left my rent payment in the copier and then sent me a letter saying that I didn't pay, at the top of my "receipt" (which was a photocopied check because she couldn't remember her password for her computer) is written "resived[sic] 5/3/09". The lawn care believes anything growing out of the ground should probably stay, weeds and everything. Realize that any maintenance calls are going to require multiple trips, and only after a long delay because your sticky note will have to be found amongst the mountain of sticky notes. The buildings are old, outdated, and maintained by people who have no idea what they're doing. Our back door leaks around the frame and the frame is rotting. There are water stains on the ceiling of the kitchen. I get to hear my upstairs neighbors go at it like jackrabbits. I have a garage that I have to put the transmitter touching the door, but I have a sticky note that will hopefully be found (it's only been since the day I moved in); the garages aren't sealed, so plan on having nothing on the floor or it will be ruined. All in all, look elsewhere, the prices just went up, the management is horrible and it's definitely worth looking for something better. The only good thing about this place is the location.

This is all totally true. It has been this way for years now. I lived there between 2007-2008 and it was the same. My storage unit leaked and I had no idea. When spring came, all my things were soaking wet and covered in mold. They said oh sorry. Every time I called maintenance they never came either and I would have to call 4-5 times until they got tired of me calling and finally did something. When I moved out the office people were sick and so the maintenance man went over my apartment with me. He said it looked amazing, and then I got a letter the next week saying the carpets had to be cleaned and the whole things painted. I cleaned the carpets before I moved out and touch up painted every room. I was so mad. I moved 4 hours away and had to come back to prove my case so I could get my deposit back. It was ridiculous. I agree there are much nicer places for the way you will be treated. Oh and I too heard my neighbors going at it all the time too. Yuck! Learn from our mistake and rent somewhere else.

I had moved there because of the good reviews(this was over a year ago.) I have recently moved because I was told my lease would not be renewed because they implemented "dog breed restrictions".My dog was not ever a problem and liked by all and my rent was paid 10 days early every month. I had refered 3 people over the last year and will not do so anymore. The managment is a mess and rude, with the excpetion of one and she may be gone now. The rent went up ALOT and no upgrades. All of the apt is very outdated and for $700 a month a person can rent a house...and that is just what I did..for less money then I was paying before. There was only a lock no dead bolt on the door and there ws a gap at that between the door and frame. The mowers are not very good at keeping the place looking nice either. The ONLY good thing about Ashley Oaks is the location. Crime is minimal there also but that will change with time. They will have to rent to anyone when people start moving out. By the way...there are 10 breeds they no longer allow. When I asked them HOW many tenants were given notice I was told 20. I did not know that anyone could afford to loose 20 tenants!! At $14000.00 a year that is ALOT Of money!

I think you guys are just a bunch of COMPLAINERS! Find something else to occupy your time! Ashley Oaks is a great place to live. Rent went up? REnt is extremely reasonable. You probably just dont have a good enough job to afford it. It's always the people who cant afford the place, or never pay their rent on time are the ones always finding something to complain about. The management is not rude. They are very helpful and when a problem does occur, they are always helping out to fix the problem. As far as the dogs, give me a break! If you have a dog that is on like every apartment complexes restricted breeds list, go buy a house! Most places do not allow agressive breeds. Ashley Oaks is a great place to live and I would recommend it to ANYONE.

Following up to the last comment, my rent is now $696 with a garage and would have been $721 WITHOUT the $60/month garage if we signed again. The buildings are OLD and not maintained properly. I still live in Ashley Oaks and if you like I could show you everything that's wrong, since you're oblivious to what a maintained apartment actually looks like. At $700 you can easily rent a house and for $100-$150 more you could finance a house and OWN it when you're done. I'm not COMPLAINING, I'm warning future tenants. You'll be interested to know that this place has changed management 3 times this year, how often you see the same people up front? And, might I also mention, that I lived across from a lady that has lived here for 24 years (since my building opened) and she said, "This place has changed for the worse and I can't stand to live here any longer." They did fix her air conditioning that she had been complaining about for a year, the week after she moved out. So if you're a fool enough to think that this place is a good deal, then spend all that extra money you must have with your prestigious job, that you must also have to live here. Ignorance isn't always bliss. Out of curiosity, what are you comparing these "REASONABLE" rates to? I can give you a list of 5 better (and priced the same) places within 4 miles of here.
