Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I lived in the Twyckenham from 2004 to 2006. I'd say when I first moved in, it was okay. The only problem I had in 2004 was that someone always parked in the carport I rented, and when I complained it to the staff, they said they will call a tow truck which never appeared.
But starting from some time in 2005, things started to get out of control. First of all, it became quite noisy. Then, maintenance became irresponsible -- on the thanksgiving night of 2005 my heater broke and I called the maintenance. They told me they will send someone to fix it. But the guy never came until after the Thanksgiving weekend. I was fortunate that I have a small electrical heater, and that kept me warm. Then, several days before I moved out in summer 2006, some people sprayed some nasty and bad words on the walls of a building with black paint. Also, since 2005, laundry room became more dirty. In spring 2006 some people broke the lock of the laundry room and afterwards, most of the times the ground in the laundry room made me feel bad.
It seems to me that the Bluffs does not filter bad residents, and they don't care about the residents anymore. That's why I moved out from it in 2006. I moved to another apartment about 1 mile away and I fully enjoyed the experience there. Now I am leaving Lafayette for good (just graduated from Purdue), I want to share my experience so that people will be able to choose a good place to stay.
