I should've known that the super sweet girls working in the office were just putting on an act...the minute I signed my lease and actually moved in it was all downhill. Our 1st day in the apartment I had to clean it myself, because the cleaning people they have, don't clean, they just wipe down counters. The carpet cleaners had been in that morning however, the carpet reeked like wet dog! When I said something about it to the office people they said, "we don't know why, the people before you didn't even have a dog," but nobody solved the problem, so I had to reclean the carpets myself, which only helped slightly. We had painted the walls ourselves and replaced outlet covers because the painters that came in painted with primer, not paint and got it everywhere. OK, now for the worse parts. While there, I had to call the police 6 times for my next door neighbors (all kids, most under the age of 18 living there unsupervised), had my window smashed out of my car and maintenance didn't even come and clean up the glass, the front door never locked and when they "fixed" it, it still didn't lock, the dryer took $3.00 just to dry a small load of laundry and that was if it was empty long enough to even do laundry there, my screendoor was broke when we moved in, requested a new one, and never did get it before I moved out a year and 1/2 later (my friend also lived in this complex and it took her almost a full year to get a new screen as well), also requested a new garbage disposal, doubt that ever made it into the apartment either. My rent went up $40 (and they credited me $10/mo for being a good tenant) when I signed lease #2. Requested an exterminator or even maintenance to come and spray my balcony because there were wasps and hornets nesting not only on my balcony, but in the building itself where the siding didn't exactly meet up..no one ever came. There isn't enough lighting; I never felt safe coming home alone, and I know for a fact that while I lived there a little girl was raped in broad daylight right in front of the complex.
Do yourself a favor, do not rent at Broadmoor, go to Hickory Creek or SummerWood or heck, pop up a tent somewhere other than near there...Anywhere is better than renting from these crooks! They have no problem taking your money, but the minute you need something you can't find a soul to help you.
P.S. Both me, and my friend there were renting units there, both opted to end our leases early rather than staying in that place another minute.

Can I ask how much you had to pay to opt out of your lease early? I'm here now and I couldn't be more miserable.
