THe people across the hall from me moved into their apartment the same time that I did, and I found out later that their monthly rent was $30 a month less than mine was!!! When I approached managemnt about it, they were extremely unprofessional and just plan rude. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. It doesnt matter how much you try to talk to them, or what you say, becuase it won't do any good. When it is not their pocketbook being affected, they don't care, and have "You are bothering me" attitude. The person before was right... dont cross the wrong person. WHen it came time to renew the lease, their is an increase, and the increase is based off of your current rent, so they will be paying less than me for the same apartment for the whole time they are there. That is unfair. I couldn't wait to move out after my lease was up!

I wondered about that myself, when I found a website and apartment guide listing a one bedroom for $817 and the sarcastic... (best I can give her)... office girl, quoted me $851 for the same level and floor plan. Isn't that called bait and switch?

apartment prices will differ! If you'd learned about their cheaper rent before you signed the lease then you would have a right to be upset and go to the office and request a lower monthly payment. However, once you sign on the dotted line you agree to pay whatever amount is stated in the lease. YES it is unfair, but that is not a good reason to give the complex a "no" recommendation. did you ask your neighbors if they have a fireplace, whirlpool tub, or some other amenity that your apartment does not have? if you did and theirs is the same then it would be a good idea to state that.
