You are not safe here. I lived there back in 1999, when they shut down route 30 due to a blizzard. There is one road in and one road out. On that ONE road, there is a dip with a culvert. If memory serves me correctly, EVERYONE must travel through this part of the street in. Well, in that blizzard, the culvert froze up and water began to run over the one road in/out. It got so high, that a couple of cars were submerged in it. We could not get out and eventually had to walk to the then closed route 30 and have someone come get us.

If that wasn't the stupidest thing you heard yet, it took them over a week to plow the snow, which had become ice at that time. They had to send front loaders out to dig up the ice. The trench marks from other big automobiles had made it impossible for travel in that parking lot - you would bottom out.

I understand that the weather was major that day. But, they could have at least unblocked that stupid culvert to allow the water to stop running over the road. Or they could have gotten a snow plow to come when the snow was coming down. They still owe me a job since I got fired from not being able to get to work for over a week. Jerks.
