I used to live at Summerwood from 2002-2004. I still occatioinally get reviews about Summerwood via-e-mail from me writing about how horrible it was back then and figured I would enlighten those poor people thinking about moving in. It is horrible!!!!! It appears that it has gotten worse there since I left!! Maintenance is definatly crooked and they absolutly steal from residents. They are the same hood ganstas that live in the apartment, these just actually have a job. Same walk of life though!! I would never ever go outside at night there wither. When I moved there two girls had been raped in the parking lot and to my knowledge nothing was ever done because there was no cameras. There were also two casrs stolen and ours was vandalized. You go to talk to management about anything and you walk out reminding yourself to keep it together and to not walk back in there and punch them in their mouth. They are very rude. The grounds are filthy and unsafe for children. Sad to see that the dog poop, bird poop, condoms, trash, and needles are still all over the grounds. The people that work there do not care because NOT ONE OF THEM will live here even though they get a massive discount too. Rent is too high for the living conditions. A year after we moved in they began to accept Section 8 applicants. This is why it is so hood there. They all came from Caprini Green!!! They also had to tear the basketball nets down when we were there because you would have 80 people parked in the crash and on the sidewalk betting on basketball games. Did I mention that I saqw a crack deal go down and was told to "keep walking or die". NICE. Considering our locks were broke, I never slept because I was always so scared. I finally went out and bought and installed my own. I gave them the new set of keys to do work on my sink (after I waited 7 months) and when I came home they had taken my locks off and put the broke ones back on. By the way, they took my new locks and claimed they had no idea what I was talking about. Respect yourself enough to not move in there. It is emotionally damaging to worry about your personal safety, the safety of your property and living in conditions that will most likely result in you catching hepatitis.
