Spend your $410.00 per month on something actually worth it.

Windermere appears to be a nice classy apartment complex at first glance. After spending a year there I came across several flaws and I have decided to never give them another dollar and to do my best to convince others to do the same. The management is very pushy and upon signing my lease I was forced to pay the following summer's rent in advance. I was forced to pay a $250 deposit to be used for "cleaning and painting" after moving out. A roommate who stayed in the apartment said that the only carpets cleaned were the two empty bedrooms, not the living room or hallway, and that absolutly no painting was done thoughout the entire apartment. Sounds like Windermere pocketed a good amount of money off of that! There were never enough visitor parking spaces and my friends always parked at College Park (who has unlimited parking and doesn't care who parks there). There was a shooting the day I signed my lease as well as another one in my building while I was a resident. Policies changed with no warning, like the day they decided to start filling open rooms in apartments with random people. The property manager is rude and inconsiderate. She acts as though she hates her job and doesn't care about any concerns or complaints. Maintenance men seem to think it's okay to waltz into your apartment anytime they please, claiming that they knocked. It was annoying having to leave 30 minutes before class to drive through campus traffic and find a spot, wait for a shuttle, etc... Choose a place that is closer to campus or has free shuttling. I was charged for things upon moving out for a room that wasn't even mine! As if my $410 a month wasn't enough to cover any costs whatsoever of wear and tear that might have gone on during my living there, they charged me ridiculous amounts for minimal "damage" done to their crappy, low quality furniture. DO NOT be tricked by Windermere's nice appearance. It's a shallow complex in it strictly for the money. DO NOT let them push you around. Find an apartment complex with friendly staff who will work with you, not against you. AVOID WINDERMERE AT ALL COSTS.

Also, my car was broken into outside my apartment. My door wasn't latched, my trunk was open, my glove box was open, visors we down...Security did absolutely nothing about it and the police seemed to think it was a routine event and said they'd continue to drive by the property just as they always do.
