Windermere is the most ridiculous excuse for a great place to live when you are in college. And I would like to point out a little fact that I discovered recently...

It has been suggested in many of the posts and responses that the staff at Windermere writes positive reviews and gives good ratings to increase their recommendation percentage.

WELL IT'S TRUE! And here is how I know...

I was unable to write a review a few weeks ago. I repeatedly received the same error message every time that said something about this feature being blocked for my IP address. And having read all of the reviews about what the staff does... I was guessing they had something to do with it. IE: blocked the residents using the ethernet connection from using this feature. So, I wrote an email to apartment ratings. They responded that they had "reason to believe" the office staff was in fact rating the complex and writing positive reviews. In order to prevent this they completely blocked any IP address within the Windermere complex. They suggested that I write a review from outside the complex or that I just wait until they sorted out the problem.

That's all I'm going to say...

This alone should let you know that the office staff is cheap and will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING to get ahead. Even if that means overcharging students and then charging them for ridiculous and absurd things.

Thanks for nothing Windermere. You couldn't pay me to live here again!!

Have a wonderful day! And please, overlook Windermere. You will be much happier living somewhere else.

How do you suppose that they can block all IP addresses from every single connection? Seems pretty far fetched to me. Let me ask you this. What happened that pissed you off so bad? Did you get a lease violation? Were you doing something wrong and get called out? Seems to me that the only time that someone has a beef with management is when they cross the line and management has to get involved. I work for a student housing complex and I get to see what problems immature college students cause. Broken bottles thrown off balconies. Pets brought in on the sly. Having someone live (and I do mean live) in your room against lease policy. Sure there are problems. All apartment complexes do.

haha, but not as many as this one. It may just be dumb college students, and I agree, there are some here that ruin it for the rest of us. But management can't seem to get things right. Simple things. Like, how much rent we owe, mowing the lawn, just general maintenance on the property, and especially when we move in/out or transfer to an apartment. None of these things they can every get right. The inner workings of the office are not up to par. I have more complaints about this place than good comments and, even in this is a college apartment complex, that shouldn't happen, not matter what complex it is.

just because we are in college does not mean that we are irresponsible and rude. i think there is just that stereotype against college students in general because of some that act that way. and in all actuality i do not drink or party at all. and i didn't violate my lease by doing anything i wasn't supposed to do either. yet, strangely enough, I STILL HATE WINDERMERE. and whoever the genius is that wrote that they dont believe the initial post because they dont think windermere can block all the connections.... well, you are a genius. pure genius. haha. not. windermere provides the internet you dumb ass. and that means the can do whatever they want with it. including, but not limited to, blocking features of sites without anyone ever thinking twice about it. plus, my carpets were stained when we moved in and have not ever been cleaned. i was so fed up with trying to deal with the management that i just cleaned them myself. obviously it didnt turn out as well as if a professional company had done it. so yeah, i'm still pissed about it.

I agree. This place has been nothing but a bad deal. I don't party, I don't drink, I am a responsible college student that hasn't had any violations, I also clean up my place inside and out. I moved in this placing having to clean up other peoples pubic hairs, bark in the tub, fixing holes in the wall, cleaning my carpets because they had black and red stains, scrubbing the floors that had what smelled like piss on them, cleaning out the refrigerator that in broken and had caramelized junk in it which stilled smelled for days after we moved in, I had to clean out a room where I found needles, I still have oil stains on the patio, the garbage disposal didn't work and the dish washer still doesn't and backs up into the sink, when we moved in, people were still living there and should have been gone, the heat doesn't work well, they still haven't fixed all of the smoke detectors, I had to clean up hardened food and beer splatter off the walls and floors, I could go on but I am already sick of typing. Not only that, we were trying to get out of the lease before we moved in because we found something that better suited us after a life changing event and she told the others looking at the place that they were doing us a favor so there was no need to negotiate with us and we should pay everything. Management doesn't belong in peoples business and they should stay out of it. These are just things wrong with my apartment itself. Not to mention all of the things that are wrong with facility itself.
