Overall this place isn't great. I've lived here for 7 years and have had dozens of new neighbors. You can hear people through the walls. When we trying to keep the rugs clean inside we would place them outside our door and we were constantly given notices that this was an "eye sore". I was the middle of winter and all we wanted to do was keep the place clean. They have seperate spaces for resistence and visitor parking and no one follows this. They came into our apartment while we were away and went through our things. The grounds are kept poorly due to the lack of a stable groundskeeper. I haven't had much good to say about this place and wouldn't allow anyone to live here.

Who would want their neighbors leaving their rugs out in the common areas (i.e., hallway)? There was no elaboration about the alleged unannounced visit where someone supposedly when through their belongings. And why would anyone stay in a place thats so bad for over 6 years if the entire experience has been such a negative one? Not a very balanced perspective.

The apartments are good size and the mostly elderly people who live in near my apartment are relatively nice. When I moved in it was really dirty. There was urine and hair from the previous tenant on the ceiling in the restroom. Most apartment complexes clean the apartments prior to a new tenant moving in not this apartment complex. The bath tub never drained properly. When I called for service they couldn???t solve the issue, and they were not going to call a plumber. Now the enamel on the tub is failing. The heater fan failed during the coldest days of the year on the week-end and instead of calling and paying extra for service, I sat in my apartment under a blanket and in my winter coat all week-end. Wasps decided to build a nest in the room that housed the heater and air conditioner unit. I had hundreds of wasps swarming the apartment at 2:00 in the morning. I called for service and their incompetent staff sprayed a little, though I had to deal with wasps coming into my apartment and stinging me until the weather got cold. Again instead of hiring a professional to clean out the wasps they would not spend the money. The laundry and storage room is located in the basement of each building, and they are absolutely disgusting. The spaces are accessible by a steep badly designed stairs and protected by a flimsy, easily opened door. It???s only a matter of time before someone gets attacked. The rooms have not been cleaned in years and are full of bugs. The washing machines work one week and not the next and are seldom cleaned and sometime drain directly onto the floor. A few weeks ago the apartment complex lost power for a couple days. The hot water heaters are electric and were not heating the water. Once the power was restored twelve hours later the hot water still wasn???t restored. I called for service and they turned the hot water to such a point where now it???s scalding, which of course was done on purpose. Most recently the complex has decided that it was going to tell everyone they had to keep their apartments clean, because they were doing such a good job with the basement. So they would enter the apartment and if you didn???t do the dishes that mourning or take out the trash from the previous night you would get a threatening letter stating that they were going to sick the health department on their customers. Oakcrest Apartments is an old poorly maintained out of date apartment complex with arrogant passive aggressive staff. Taking this apartment was a huge mistake, I???m glad I moved.
