I drove 2 hours to look at this apartment. They did not tell that they were a government subsidized housing. I am well above their income guidelines. That is not the problem. I am willing and able to pay full price for an apartment. The problem is that they required a copy of my Divorce Decree, an appraisal on the house I sold to my exhusband two years ago, Six months of pay stubs and six months of bank records, just to name a few items on the list. Told them i was not interested in BUYING the apartment, just renting it! I told them they were welcome to do a credit check, background check and employment verification but I was not handing over my financial and personal legal documents to strangers! I was told that they could not rent to me. Just as well. I found a much better place at Lions Creek a few miles away that did not require any of that nonsense!
