My husband, son, and I used to live there. We had been there almost two months, when one evening my husband and I were sitting in the living room and I saw someone out on our patio. My husband walked out with his shotgun (not loaded) and saw that it was a teenage boy. He put the gun up and went out to talk to the kid. He just told him that he had scared me and had walked out with a gun because he didn't know what he was doing on our patio. The boy apologized, but then we got a visit from his father. The kid told his father a completely different story though his child was the one looking in our window. The police showed up, said we had done nothing wrong. We were then notified that we had to vacate the property within 30 days because WE were in the wrong. NOTHING happened to the kid or his father. I couldn't believe it. It was also extremely noisey. I will definitely never recommend this place to anyone I know.

Who cares if the gun was loaded or not. I would understand if they lived in the country and saw someone outside their window, but in an apartment complex there are going to be people walking around outside especially if you live around common areas. I feel safe knowing that this apartment complex does not tolerate this kind of action. I do not want to worry about walking out to my car at night and have some guy pull a gun out on me because I "scared" his wife. Maybe these people shouldn't live in an apartment complex if they can deal with people walking past their apartment.

Your husband walked outside with a gun? Pointed at a kid? You live in PENDLETON not NYC. Get real people. I wouldn't feel comfortable living near your crazy ---!

I have lived in indiana for a little over two years. I've lived in NYC for 28 years. Get the facts anonymous and come up with a better example. Until you live in a place don't judge. I think 28 years of first hand experience is a lot more than you have. In addition, no matter were you are if there is an intruder I'm quite sure anyone would want to be safeguarded. Criminals especially serial killers have been found in the "safest" areas.

You lived on private property owned by house investments managent. If they wanted, they could have pressed charges against you.

In the state of Indiana, you can't press charges on someone for brandishing a legal, permitted firearm on their property-this does include rented space. The teenager wasn't 'walking past' he was standing on their rented property making him a trespasser. I would have definitely filed a suit against the apartment complex for breaking your lease with out just cause.
