I lived at Water Dance for about a year and a half. The apartments are dated, and drastically in need of being updated. My bathroom floor had visible mold from the tub leaking. The dishwasher never worked properly. Two months before I left I had new neighbors move in below me. I'm not sure what the odor was, a combination of smoke and something else is the best I can guess, but it penetrated my apartment from the day they moved in (I assume through the heater vents). The carpet needed replaced (but why would they replace it when I was there, ready to rent'), the countertops were full of scratches, the vinyl floors were not in the best shape.

When I first visited the property the rental agent (who is still there) was very rude. It was a Sunday. They had a sign in the yard in front of the office the office was open on Sunday from 12-5. I had visited a website that also listed hours on Sunday (although slightly different, I think 12-6). There was a sign mounted next to the door that said the office was closed on Sunday. There was an 'Open' sign hanging on the door. When I went inside the agents were there working. The agent looked at me like I was stupid, and asked in a very rude tone if I had read the closed sign outside. I told her I had, but I had also read the two open signs and there signage wasn't very clear. She rudely informed me the open signs referred to the pool and clubhouse, not the agent hours.

I didn't have a lot of time to find my apartment, and Shelbyville doesn't have a lot of options, it was the best I could do, but if you have a choice choose something else.
