In a bad part of town, not recommended for Notre Dame-associated people, it's pretty far away. The buildings are absolutely terribly constructed, things are constantly falling apart. Office staff is friendly, but forget about having any privacy. They would often enter the apartment while we were away without our permission, claiming some sort of emergency...!
Neighbors are incredibly noisy, tons of kids and paper-thin walls.
Pet policy is lenient, which is probably the only good thing about it.
South Bend is a pretty cheap place to live, so buy a house if you can!!! k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
