I have lived at Irish Hills for almost three years. I have no intention of leaving. The grounds and buildings are very well maintained, and the rent is reasonable. The place is beautiful, especially in the springtime. I wouldn't take very seriousy the comments about the water being shut off. It seems like it isn't even once a month that it is shut off for maintenance (people ought to be glad it is maintained), and while we are notified well in advance that the times when the water can be off are between 9am-4pm, it never lasts that long. I have never noticed the water being shut off, so it has never been a problem for me to any degree. Also, the maintenance crew is good about making the normal minor repairs that are needed from time to time (leaky faucets, etc.). The people who are crabbing about the place are probably the same ones who are throwing their beer bottles and trash paper in the road (the grounds keepers pick it up for them). South Bend is fortunate to have a place like this. Unfortunately, Americans are capable of complaining about the best of conditions. Too bad they can't spend a month in Darfur.
