Do Not Rent Here

When I first stated to live here, this was a wonderful place to live with a maintenance staff that took pride in their work. That all changed when CAPREIT took over. Last January a gutter fell off of the roof and somehow broke through the bay window of my bedroom. (The gutter was filled with ice.)It took well over 1 week for a replacement and the only thing which protected my bedroom from the elements was a flimsy board that did not completely cover the hole. Since it was January, the bedroom was completely unusable and I slept for 1 week on the couch in my living room.
There also has been a torrential leak in the ceiling of the living room. Everytime it rains heavily an area of at least 10 square feet of the carpet gets soaked. Water leaked onto my television and stereo. I ended up having to leave the TV in the center of my living room to protect it from rainwater.
There has been a rash of car burgleries in the past few days, but of course there has not been any increase in the level of security provided in the parking lot.
When I talk to the property managers I get the same response over and over, "well we inherited a lot of problems from the past owners and we-re trying to fix them." But rarely is anything accomplished.
