Not luxurious, but comfortable

I lived in a three bedroom townhouse for nine months at Williamsburg. The place is definitely not new, but they are working to update appliances and such. I lived there very comfortably, although since moving from the area I have upgraded in luxury.
Of some of the negatives I encountered, the worst was our bee problem. While our unit was vacant before we moved in, some wasps built a nest in the wall. As a result, in the spring we had about 100 lethargic bees crawling around our apartment, mostly around the front window where they were coming out of hibernation. Maintence helped in getting rid of some of the bees, but basically told us that we just had to wait until they were emptied out of the nest. Also, since the place wasn't every new there were lots of spiders in the spring. Another negative in my opinion is all the kids that play in the parking lots and in the streets, even in the dark! Also, we were told that our apartment may or may not be wired for internet and cable and when we moved in it wasn't, so we had to bear the expense of all the installation fees ourselves. I think the management should have taken on that expense. Finally, I didn't feel one hundred percent safe at Williamsburg. There are often shady characters walking around at night and since low income housing is in the vacinity, there have been some less than comforting happenings in the area.
Now for the positive comments! The management staff was always very nice and helpful. My experience with the maintenance staff was also positive. They were nice and usually able to help out quickly. Our heat had gotten turned off one day on accident and the maintenance man drove a half hour in the middle of the night to come turn it back on for us. Our townhouse was roomy and comfortable. Although our oven was very old, when it quit working it was replaced with a brand new one quickly. The location of Williamsburg is great. You are only minutes from lots of restaurants and about a half mile from a big grocery store.
If you want a new, bright, luxurious apartment, this is not the place for you. However, if you need comfort, space, and a decent place to live, Williamsburg will make a nice home.
