My husband and I have been renting here for 4 years. The two back bedrooms are very drafty in the winter and you can actually feel the cold air coming in between the trim and carpeting. We've been waiting 3 weeks for maintenance to come replace the outlet for the drier after we had an electrical fire. No one from management or maintenance has come in to assess how much or what kind of damage was done. The wiring in our building is a joke. The ceiling fan light used to flicker if the tenants upstairs walked over it. Now it doesn't work at all. The bathroom light switch doesn't work sometimes. We have to jiggle the switch back and forth to get the lights to come on. I was told 2 years ago when our dishwasher wasn't working how to fix it myself. I'm doing dishes by hand. We've had 3 occasions when something upstairs (air conditioning unit twice, water heater once) sprung a leak. Last time our carpet was soaked and their solution was to have a carpet cleaning company come in to soak up what they could and dry the rest with fans. Our carpet now stinks and they won't even discuss replacing it. The ceiling is now water stained, cracked and has 2 small holes where maintenance poked a bulge where water was collecting. Disruptive tenants that have complaints against them are not talked to by management. In the lease it states that children are not to play in the halls or other common areas in the buildings...but they do and parents are not told to put a stop to the behavior. This has only gotten this bad in the past year and a half to two years. All of this and they still raise the rent on us at least $20.00 each year we renew the lease. Unfortunately, as much as we would love to move, we just can't afford it with the amount of rent we are now paying.
