Paying an outrageous fee to live in a ghetto

I am female, and moved in at the beginning of the 2007 summer. Two roommates were moving in at the start of the school year. When I arrived, there was a male living in the apartment, who told me he was not moving out until the end of the summer. Only after threatening to break my lease did the management find me an alternative apartment. The rent for each bedroom is what my boyfriend pays for his entire off campus apartment, even though this is probably the standard markup for being this close to campus. Also, on this site it says $405 for a three bedroom apartment. That is misleading. It is that much per bedroom. So you pay $405, and if you have roommates they pay the same. You can not split the bill. I know for a fact that members of the office staff own and keep dogs in their apartments, even though it is against the rules for everyone else. You can clearly hear music playing in the apartment above, below, or next to yours at any time of the day or night. Make sure guests can find the guest parking. The tow truck guys are downright rude. One time as I pulled in late one night, they followed me to where I parked, blocked my car in, and checked to see if I had a parking pass before leaving to harass someone else. My windshield was also shot and cracked in two places with a BB gun over a weekend while I was gone and left my truck in the lot. There have been many thefts in the past couple of months. I forgot to lock the door after coming home from class one day. Someone walked in while I was on the couch, saw me, and took off running. The cable is iffy, and the internet comes and goes.
On the plus side you are provided with a couch, tv, dresser, and semen soaked mattress and bed platform. The living room is also very large, but you pay for it in your electricity bill.

Actually most of your statements you have made are incorrect and misleading yourself. I used to work there as the Assistant Manager and I believe I know exactly who you are. As for when you first moved in, that was in fact a mistake on our end, and we did our best to resolve it as most we could, do not act as if you threatened to leave, b/c you could not have even if you wanted to, due to the fact that your lease is a legal binding contract. We corrected the problem as soon as we understood that the gentleman was staying for the summer (which as I said was in fact our fault), there is no argument about this, there are 644 beds and sometimes mistakes happen.
Yes we rent by the bedroom, as does, College Station, Willowbrook, and many other local apartments around the college area. There is nothing wrong with this and it is "college" style living! If you would have kept reading or investigated more before you were obviously upset, you would know that it is not misleading, we advertise "per person", and each and every lease is per person.
As for noise complaints, we have a security officer that is available 24/7, if you have a complaint, do something about it, rather than just complaining long after the incident, that is what he is there for!
The towers that are hired out; we have no control as to how they treat the residents and/or relatives/friends. We do not see any profit, and do not gain from anything that they do. They simply are making sure that YOU as a "resident" have a spot near YOUR building to park. Seriously we cannot win with this, either residents complain b/c there is no parking, or they complain b/c they were addressed about their parking sticker, honestly you should think about the whole aspect of things before thinking the whole world is out to get you, or you???re being treated so differently!
As for vandalism and any other crimes on the property... During the winter season there is always more crime, especially with apartments and the Christmas season! It happens, and we addressed anything that we knew about with respect and regard.
If you had a problem at any time, why wait 8 MONTHS later; knowing you didn???t inform us at the office of anything that was wrong, other than your initial move in. Honestly you sound like you had a few things go wrong, and after 8 MONTHS are just now complaining! Why didn't you address anything when it happened? Rather than waiting so long to complain, and not even to the office, which is where you should start if you have a problem with us and the way things are being ran!
And let???s address your mattress, when you moved in you were given a sheet to fill out, and you were to complete it within 48 hours, regarding any furnishings and anything else in the apartment. This includes the remark about your mattress, which should have been addressed when you moved in, NOT 8 MONTHS later! Thank you for your input, however most of what you are saying is not true, and that is mostly due to the fact that nothing was every said to the office, so how are we to make things ???better??? when we are unaware of the situation?

Actually, Nina, you do have control of how a vendor treats your residents. When I worked there, if a vendor was rude to a resident the company was called, complained to, and there were consequences. If the towing guys are being rude to your residents then you need to call the main company and complain about it. Because even if you say "well we have no control over them", when they are on your property they are making you look bad.
About the cable and internet, it does suck, horribly. Why doesn't the property switch to Insight/Comcast?

Nina, It would be nice if your response to this complaint held any merit, but quite frankly it doesn't. You have lied to my face personally on several occasions. You are manipulative and conniving.

I totally agree with the whole ghetto thing...I went to go play basketball one day and there were a bunch of scary people that didn't even live there taking up all the courts blaring they're "awesome" music..and walking around the complexes (probably looking for unlocked doors) I also agree with the mattresses and couches pretty gross..the cable barely ever works and if it is it's cutting in and out or fuzzy...haven't had a problem with the internet tho...
BUT HERE IS MY MAIN CONCERN and why I'm writing this...I guess somewhere i signed something allowing all the maintainence guys and creepy worker people to come in my apartment whenever they want and they have come in numerous times unannounced they'll knock and if u don't answer or are sleeping they will just come in and u could be half naked..YOU GUYS SHOULD REALLY CALL FIRST! Nobody likes the pop in....I'm paying TOO much money to not have any privacy...how rude..:-p
