In May 2009, I found a sub-leaser with a lot of difficulty (the apartment people plain refused to help me) and sub-leased it. I always help my apartment very clean and that was why the sub-leaser was very happy to get the apartment for cheap (He only paid 70% of the rent and I paid the rest).

No inspection was done on move-out because the management said that they dont do it till July so a sub-leaser should sub-lease "as is". My sub-leaser agreed and paid $60 to transfer the lease. The apartment management shifted the lease in his name and I was told that I would be getting my full security in 45 days.

Today is the 15th of October and I am being told that most of my deposit has been adjusted against damages. I moved out without any damage and had shifted the lease. Extremely unprofessional. I might even file for legal action. Under Indiana Statute: IC-32-31-3-14, the landlord is supposed to return deposits within 45 days of move-out date.
