I'd think twice

I have to start out by saying, I somewhat did enjoy my experience here. I made a lot of great friends out of it. Other than that, I was on the bottom level of the apartments, which was mostly underground. I didn't get much sunlight at all, it was always dark in my apartment and it was somewhat strange to always see people's feet walking right by your windows and always see the cars from eye level driving in front of your apartment.

The air conditioner was a joke. It would make my front room freeze, you could see your breath, and yet my bedroom, even with fans running would be like an oven. The apartments were not designed efficently. I don't think that they were well insulated either, my bills for heat were insane, the heaters were always on, I think that was one of the problems.

The noise in my building at the time was pretty quiet, but at one point we did have a problem with a neighbor's dog barking for hours on end and this person not stopping the dog. The apartment complex tried to take care of the situation after about 10 of us from the apartment started calling and harassing them to take care of the situation. It came down a couple of times at calling the police, the apartment could not fix it.

There were the occasional parties, and I'm a quiet person that would have to work in the mornings on weekends, and I didn't care for those parties, but I would just leave and go to a friends house to stay.

Maintence was horrible. I once had (beware: this is somewhat graphic) a termite attack in my apartment. They were swarming in from the heating vents from the wall. After calling emergency maintence, they informed me that, "It was not an emergency and just use Raid to kill them." I had to go and buy Raid myself and kill off the bugs that were invading my apartment. There were hundreds of them coming out of the wall. The next morning I contacted the office again and they told me to bring some of the bugs in. I did so, and they pretty much blew me off and said the exterminator would be out on Friday. When he arrived, I explained what had happened and he was disgusted! He told me that he should have been called out the very next day and this should have been taken care of. It was so bad that he gave me his emergency work mobile number and stated that if it ever happened again to contact him. He also found out that termites had eaten most of the wood in my walls in the apartment in my bathroom. He said that it was just paint there, and when he pushed on it, the paint moved and there was a sand residue that was pushed out.

The washers and dryers suck. I had to continuously call and try to get my money back for the machines breaking down. I would call in a complaint to the company, and unplug the machine so no one else would use it and their maintence people would just come and plug them back in and not fix the problem. Needless to say, that was a pain, especially trying to do laundry at the same time. Plus the prices were outrageous! $2.25 I believe when I was there. You can take it other places for a dollar less!!!

I also had a bird squeeze in through my screen in my bedroom and I had a drawer in my kitchen that was broke, I couldn't put it in it's place because it'd fall through. That took well, let's just say it was broke for 2 months and then I moved out. The office just claimed that their maintence was too busy to get to it at that time.

The office staff was alway kind to me, but honestly, I don't think they really knew what was going on. The maintence was horrible and I'd have to say I'd definately think twice about living there again.
