Our experience with Bluestem Apartments was horrible! The rent is too much for what you get. The maintenance staff does a good job on site, but the management is horrible. The "laundry facilities" are actually a pair of washer and dryers down in a cellar-like, scary basement closet! There is never enough parking, and they do not enforce their pet responsibility part of the lease. No one picks up after their pets and it always smells like ---- outside! The interior of the apartments are in horrible shape. The windows are outdated--our screens pop right out and our window locks do not latch--Not to mention the constant draft coming in through them in the winter! The apartment walls and ceilings look like they've had about 20 layers of careless painting done over the years. The hinges and doorknobs are even painted on!! Rather than fix or sand down problem areas they just keep painting over them. The flooring in the bathroom and kitchen is also in pretty bad shape! You can always hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing/saying--POOR INSULATION and thin walls! Between the pets, large families, and young college kids, the neighborhood is really loud and the management does nothing about noise complaints. There are a lot of small children running around unattended and college kids speeding in and out of the parking areas. It is a horrible living experience and we can't wait to get out!
