I rented from this company when I was stationed there in the Army. When I moved out they kept my deposit, then charged me an additional $15.01 that they never mentioned to me. However they did send that bill to collections even though they never sent it to me! I didn't find out about it until a few years later when I was trying to rent another apartment and I got turned down by three apartment complexes because of a lowsy $15 bucks. I was never late with my rent or anything and still to this day I don't know why they kept my deposit or what the additional 15$ was for.

Maybe you should have left a forwarding address where the remaining bill could have been sent to.
