Disappointing From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/7/2007 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007 1 response   This was my first apartment experience. We looked there in nice weather and were impressed with the space and layout of the apartment. Rightfully so. There's lots of closet space and bdrm space. It has a nice location in terms of driving but is across the street from a fire station and a major hospital. I got used to sleeping through the fire trucks and ambulances but I'm a really heavy sleeper. In the fall we had a mice infestation. Management/maintenance said there was little they could do and that "it just happens." The problem was, however, that there was a major hole in the floor/wall in the pantry. This persisted for a little over 3 months until it got too cold and they went away ( more on that later). They didn't take responsibility for problems throughout our stay. Also had a reoccuring spider problem that was never aggressively addressed. The biggest problem, though, was the insulation, or lack thereof. From about the middle of November until mid-March it stayed below 50 degrees in our apartment (yeah, Farenheit) and dipped down into the mid 30s when it got really cold. Heating the place was futile because the place wasn't insulated. If I closed off my bedroom it would only get up to about 55 and then go back down about 20 minutes later. Also, our electric bills were around $140-160 during these months.
