I've been at Suntree almost 5 years now and have no intentions of leaving. Trying to compare Suntree to new apartments in Leawood just doesn't make sense. It's old, there are lower income people and lots of them work night shifts so nights aren't silent as in Mission Hills or John Knox Village.
Maintenance is slow and there is alot of turnover in residents but those negatives won't sway me to move and pay more elsewhere.
Looking for a classy quiet retreat filled with white people and warm fuzzies' Take a pass on Suntree. If you want a decent place to live that is cheap, aren't afraid of minorities and don't mind an occassional noisy neighbor this place is perfect.

haha i ws never afraid of minorities. I was afraid of whoever the SWAT team was going after, or maybe my crazy german neighbor banging on my door for no reason. Some people get lucky though and dont experience any of it depending on t he building your're in. I was in 4 and 5, and my roomie eventually moved to 21.

I'm in 1 and have seen a carchase end in front, a few DUI's in front, some spousal abuse and my car was broken into but compared to my former place in Chicago that's nothing. I'm white as Cloris Leachman's butt and have never felt threatened or scared. I can't beat the rent & location.
