Not more than twenty minutes ago, I was walking in front of Building 17 when a young lady called out, "Sir!" After I acknowledged her greeting, she said, "Someone was just robbed at gunpoint." Pointing out the area it happened with her finger, she added, "It was right here." Moments later the cop taking the report on this incident came out of the building. I asked, "I heard it was an armed robbery. Anybody hurt'" He replied, "No, nobody was hurt." And said something about that being good..but that the incident was still pretty bad.
Not so long ago I came home to the spectacle of cops searching the complex with their guns out! There was no word back then about what had happened, but it must have been worse than what happened tonight, because many more police were involved back then, plus guards were posted on the front entrance for a few days.
Crime has become a regular occurence here and it is just time to get out.
There are alot of young college kids here...I had some next to me that would blast their music loud...even at 3 am while I was trying to sleep. I heard about young college kids driving around drunk smashing up parked cars all over the complex, and the fountain that is in the front entrance was smashed up as well. It has yet to be fixed. I can understand why they don't bother fixing it. It has happened before. I feel so sorry for the maintenance people around here. They work their butts off. They don't seem to have adequate staff around here to take care of the place, then stuff like this happens to give them even more work. Poor guys :(
