I've lived here six months now, and it's been great. The apartments are large and clean, and the upstairs units have an interior staircase--with extra storage below the stairs. I can't vouch for the other buildings, but mine is very, very quiet. Occasionally, I'll hear the downstairs neighbor's big-screen TV (for the stairwell isn't well-insulated, and the sound travels) and, once, I swear I heard him cough, but overall it's very quiet and peaceful. I never hear or see parties at any of the buildings, and it's quiet as a tomb on weekends. Aberdeen's located on the edge of town, near Clinton Lake, and I think the fact that the KU bus doesn't run out here and the higher price deters most of the partying, KU undergrads. There are a few students who live here, but they seem to be the quiet, serious type. (I'm a grad student and teacher, and it's a great place away from the "student ghetto" where one can actually get work done.) There's a dishwasher and full-size washer and drier. The bedroom is oversized and has a walk-in closet. And the covered, privated decks are a bonus.

So far, I've had no problems with management. They've been nice, polite, and they never pop in unannounced. However, I'm wondering if they'll pull something similiar to what the other reviwers have said when it's time to move out. Still, if you want a quiet, clean place away from the fraternities and whatnot, Aberdeen's worth checking out. If you do party, then stay away--this place isn't cool.

Just because it's a good review doesn't mean that it's an Aberdeen employee. Didn't you read this person's second paragraph?
