I lived in Aberdeen for a year and must agree with the other writers in not recommending this place. The one bedrooms are spacious and have a washer and dryer, which is nice, but this certainly does not outweigh all the problems.

First, my apartment faced 2 major roads, which meant I had to get thick curtains to avoid people looking into my apartment. Also, the currents somewhat helped with the draft/heat during the coldest and hottest points of the year.

Second, when I moved in, my apartment was messy and had huge holes in the wall. It also smelled like rotten food. I later found out the girl that lived there before me had moved out suddenly because of an abusive relationship and just shut everything off. Apparently the apartment complex let food rot in the apartment fridge for over two months. Although they replaced the fridge, it still smelled horrible.

Third, the spiders were insane. I realize that this complex is on the outskirts of town, but there seemed to be no pest control system implemented at all. I woke up every morning in the fall and spring with at least one spider either in my bathroom or making a web on my front door. Also, I woke up one night and went in my kitchen only to discover a mouse had made its home under my refriderator. Bottom line, the places are poorly insulated so bugs, rodents, and hot/cold air seeps in all the time.

Finally, when I moved out, my place was spotless. My parents and I spent at least 2 days cleaning the apartment to make sure we would get back the full deposit. They wanted to charge me for a light fixture having not been opened and dusted and a spot of laundry detergent on the top part of the washer! Seriously, with the mess I went into, I found it to be more than a little irritating that they wanted to charge me for these two, minor problems. I even asked the lady if I could have a tissue to clean the drop of detergent up, she refused.

Be sure to argue with management about the fines they charge. They backed down on mine, especially if you threaten with a lawsuit!

Bottom line, do not live here. You can find other apartment complexes in Lawrence that are better built and have more amenities!
