For those of you who had a bad experience with Swan Management, as I did, please join my group on facebook. It is called "Do not rent an apartment from Swan Management in Lawrence, KS. I want to reach the same demographic as does this management company and warn them before they sign a lease.

When you move in they will charge you a $400 deposit of which you will not see more than 50% upon moving out. When you are ready to move out you will be given a list of things to clean. Each item on this list has a price tag on it for how much they will bill you if it is not cleaned and or damaged. Even if you clean like hell, they will find something that is not on the list and bill you for it. They are in the practice of racketeering, which is illegal and many people have won small claims cases against them. Other than that, there is a major bug problem, maintenence is slow and sometimes nonexistent. When it snows, they will not shovel the sidewalk even when you call and say "I fell down twice." One person I know broke her wrist falling on the ice. Do not under any circumstance consider living at this terrible location. You see, they operate their business with the premise that many of their residents are college students who have never lived anywhere but at home before. Therefore, they don't have to manage their business with any kind of standard.

I sprained my ankle on the ice and complained to management . . . they did NOTHING!
