I liked living there

I lived there for a year (I just moved out) and I liked it. I can't speak to all the apartments since I've only really seen mine, but it was really nice- all of the appliances were new and so was the carpet (since I had carpet I can't speak to any of the issues w/the wood floors that some ppl. were talking about), and the utilities were never over $60 a month. After reading some of the other reviews it looks to me like most people's problems were with the old management company (they changed in Fall '07 I think-so I mostly just worked with the new staff). I thought all of the staff were really nice- even the girl with the curly hair and nose ring the one reviewer complained about (she usually was the one who took my rent payments and I thought she was nice and helpful w/o being fake nice/annoying) . When I told the manager that I'd be moving out of my apt. early and basically just using it as storage for the last month of my lease she told all of the people that looked at my apt. that it would be open early if they wanted to start their lease in July instead of Aug.- and one of those people wanted it early so the manager basically saved me an entire month of rent- anybody who does that is pretty awesome in my book. The maintenance people were very professional, the two times I needed something fixed it was done within hours. Also, I just did my checkout and they weren't nitpicky (unlike a lot of places in Lawrence they don't seem to be trying to screw students out of their deposits). I also really liked that I could pay my rent with my debit card- over x-mas break they let me do it over the phone, which saved me a trip back to Lawrence over break.
